    A worried patriot writes ....

    Dear Sir

I REALLY think it's time that the unpatriotic, left-leaning management of the BBC took Mr Andrew Marr in hand. YET AGAIN he's allowed an attractive, intelligent FOREIGN politician to explain clearly - in excellent English - the consequences of our departure from the EU. I'm beginning - together with some of my friends here in Little-England-By-The-Sea - to wonder whether he's trying to undermine the sterling work of our heroic Home Secretary.

      Be careful with this one.
If it goes too far, the plug will be pulled.

I was merely pointing out (honestly ) that IMHO the most informative contributions to the Brexit debate have came from, among others, the German Ambassador to the UK, the Austrian Foreign Minister and, today, the French Secretary of State for Europe, Amelie de Montchalin (who seems to have a more measured approach to the question of fishing rights than at least one SPAD on this side of the Channel). BBC reporters such as Katya Adler, Adam Fleming and Damian Grammaticas who are based in Europe usually manage to retain a degree of realism and objectivity - possibly as a result of 'going native'. Priti Patel won't get very far if she antagonizes the Civil Service, and David Frost won't get very far if he antagonizes his interlocutors.

                            Dear Mr LMcD,
We in Little-England-by-the-Sea would never apply epithets like 'attractive' or' intelligent' to FOREIGN politicians, nor describe them as speaking 'excellent' English. These are obvious contradictions in terms, and you are clearly yourself FOREIGN.
                            Yours sincerely.
I keep hitting the Escape key, but I'm still here!
