    Sponsored Amazon Products

I noticed some offerings on Amazon, which appear to be low prices, and the item or sets of items are indicated as "Sponsored".

What impact, if any, does this have on me as a consumer?

In particular I'm thinking of cameras and lens kits, and wondering if some of these deals are not quite genuine.

I think that where a product is ‘sponsored’, it’s manufacturer or seller has paid Amazon to put the product higher up in the list of searched products to improve sales.

The whole theory of modern education is radically unsound. Fortunately in England, at any rate, education produces no effect whatsoever. If it did, it would prove a serious danger to the upper classes, and probably lead to acts of violence in Grosvenor Square."

The equivalent, perhaps, of the (in)famous No. 2 on a restaurant wine list?

The impact is has on me is to scroll down past any "sponsored" products to the real list.

Maybe - but the prices of some of the sponsored products are seemingly sometimes rather good. The particular one I was looking at for a camera, plus lens x2, plus memory card and bag was not too much more than the cost of one of the lenses from another supplier. So are these dodgier dealers, or dodgy products, or just rather good deals?

Are you thinking of decoy marketing here?
