Interesting thread this - and I may revise my views about putting data up on web pages - but only very slightly.

Also - pardon my ignorance, but what does "M.V." stand for? Latin something ... Motor vessel? Initials shared with someone else, but not generally known?

Monsieur Vinteuil He has views on the subject which he expressed on our other ancestry thread, which I now can't find - I think it may have been called "Who do you think you are" but the forum's search engine can't cope with that as they're all common words

One of my more entertaining discoveries - thanks to Geni and MyHeritage. He was the brother of one of my American great great grandmothers (whom I new all about, I have lots of photos of her) - my grandmother's great uncle, in other words.
