Do you think it could come to that?

More worrying is the inevitable independence of Scotland, Northern Ireland and then Wales. Maybe not straight away, but definitely within the next 10 years. People were warned but they didn't listen.

Of course it won't - Boris will negotiate a climate with the Almighty and we'll be able to grow any kind of fruit and veg we like. The first case of Tees Valley Zinfandel should be ready to drink by mid-May (this government doesn't hang about, you know!)

You mean strip-farming, as in the first age of feudalism? Plenty of serfs to till the ground. There are still those who'd happily take us back to that era.

I don't think the Welsh or Scots will go for independence when the practicalities and consequences of borders, separate currencies, or the ramifications of re-joining the EU are taken by them into consideration. The biggest political implications for the English would be losing the Labour vote in Scotland in general elections - though much of that had long gone to the Scots Gnats - an irony in view of the Scots Nats being quite a bit to the left of Scottish Labour, something the meeja have'nt mentioned at all in consigning Corbyn to eternal ridicule. Scottish Labour has always been a bastion of the right wing of the party.

New technological solutions are being found all the time which remove the need for farmland for producing food: there are underground locations in central London where high yield food production is taking place under artifical light and from sustainable heat sources. Vegetarians could probably produce all the food they and their families need and want from small external containers and window boxes. It may not be packaged so as to be judged attractive and inviting, but hey, capitalism tells us what to believe to be attractive and inviting. But I'm not taking my clothes off in public - especially not in this climate!

(Don't worry - I know what strip farming is, or was.)

There's an assembly to occur outside The Scottish Parliament tomorrow night which Mrs. PG and I may attend!

I haven't heard of any such parties taking place hereabouts.

There's one on College Green here in London outside Parliament - but Farage will be attending that, so must be organised by the other side. By which I mean not the Lib Dems. Don't know if they've sorted out the Big Ben chimes issue though.

(I nearly wrote "the Big Bend" )

The Scottish Government have decided that the European Flag will continue to be flown outside The Parliament building after tomorrow.

Er... it isn't a football match in which one team wins, and then they all shake hands and have another go next year.

If it's a success, we'll all be winners. It it isn't, we'll all be losers.

While the EU parliament will continue to fly the Union Jack. Presumably they'll have to place somebody permanently on guard, to prevent someone justifiably setting it on fire.
