Am I right in thinking that the date on the new Brexit coin is given as '31. January 2020', which is not very British?

I was going to suggest that our local Waitrose put charity boxes around the store so that people could donate them. Perhaps some boxes for Remainers and some for Leavers so that magnanimity could be measured.
