I'm staggered that folk who I thought were intelligent believe the claptrap being put out by Corbyn's mob. Only this evening down our local, the lass behind the counter went on about 'The Conservatives will sell the NHS'. Asked why she thought this, she replied "It was on Facebook". That's where I think most denizens on this thread exist.

Don't bother to reply, leftie muppets, as I'll unsubscribe just as soon as I've hit Submit Reply. You'll be poking into a vacuum...but then you know all about that.
Sorry to see you go. However, that provides even more evidence of how needlessly divisive this whole business is/has been.

'sorite, not gone. Still shown as full member. Not exactly one whose word is his/her bond. No surprise there. Perhaps simply not intelligent enough to work out how to leave.

Whatever happened to good old British compromise? Liberalism nb not “neo liberalism” ( whatever that is).

'Disagreeing' with the political views of other forum members is one thing but I don't see why that should necessitate departure from the forum, the majority of which is about other matters. I imagine I fall into the derided group(although I have never voted Labour), but I don't think that has much bearing on my comments about music and other topics. Evidently it wasn't just the bathwater that was a toxic swamp for Anasatasius, but the baby as well.
Incidentally I don't see the issue with the bar staff's comment about selling off the NHS - it's been going on for some time. Several years ago I looked into the issue of the sale of medical records which a member of another forum I belonged to had highlighted. At that time it was possible to download the price lists(inexpensive - not a good deal for UK PLC I reckoned) for various types of data; I suspect it's slightly more difficult for a member of the public to do that now although I haven't tried. The experience has coloured my views since.

So, leave does not mean leave after all. What a surprise, a bit like the bogus claim that Johnson would get withdrawal from the European Union by the end of January 2020. One notes that Anastasius has just posted on the very thread she or he claimed to have intended immediate unsubscribing from.

I thought the choice of word indicated unsubscribe to the thread - even though I have never subscribed to a thread on FoR3.

We need some "grit in the oyster" of FoR3. I still miss the trenchant opinions of Beef O.......

Both main parties have lost moderate members who have been subjected to abuse, violence and death threats. One MP was assassinated. Brexit has brought out the worst in us and its malign effects seem set to continue for years to come, probably until I peg out. I have never voted for either of them and in present circumstances am even less likely to do so.

It is not just Brexit. Social media and expression of anger with impunity are changing our social norms.

The French can have their chauffeurs and toupees back as long as they return our weekends and sandwiches, which are far more desirable and useful.

A cartoon I saw in the Daily Telegraph yesterday based on the annoyance some people feel when canvassers continually knock on their doors asking for votes (a common moan) made me think how be grateful they should be. I am in my 60s and no one has ever knocked on my door during an election campaign, general or council. Neither has anyone ever approached me in the street; just leaflets through the letterbox. I would love someone to visit me so that I can mention the things I am concerned about.
