A recording of Yoko Ono's voice could be a suitable replacement for internal combustions. Or maybe they're the same..........

"Normative determinism in action: my local Brexit Party candidate, and what you'd like to do to him."

Re Ed Punchard - lives in Australia - apparently.

But Ed Punchard has pledged to leave his home in Australia and buy one in Tynemouth, North Tyneside, should he be elected next month.

After surviving the Piper Alpha oil rig disaster in 1988, Ed Punchard has been revealed as the Brexit Party candidate for Tynemouth

He's also an author (see Amazon) and a diver who survived the Piper Alpha disaster.

An oil platform disaster 30 years ago has grim, but abundant, parallels and lessons for aviation safety. The first sign that something was wrong, was when the ceiling fell on Ed Punchard. He was diving coordinator on the Piper Alpha oil platform in the North Sea, east of Scotland, and it was 10

one at a time now... don't all rush at once

How on earth are people who live on the other side of the world even allowed to stand for election for a parliament in a country they don't live in ?

Well it's hard to know which planet some MPs are on.......

                    ( good question though.....)

Not campaigning on the climate emergency ticket then...
When I first read his credentials I couldn't help thinking that 'disaster survivor' could be useful in the difficult times ahead, although somewhat ironic. Subsequently reading that the disaster in question was Piper Alpha I should perhaps point out that I have no intention to denigrate his experience. As it happens my allotment neighbour was also a survivor of that horrific incident.

"He added that he has family links to the fishing industry in south-west England and felt at home in Tynemouth."

                        Did he mean Teignmouth?

He seems to be standing in Tynemouth, where the Labour candidate took 57% of the vote in 2017 with a majority of 11666.

I have lived in other countries. Perhaps it’s permitted for UK citizens to stand for election on condition that they relocate back to the UK if elected.

                              Maybe
But it doesn't really seem right that someone who has no stake in the country is allowed to potentially "represent" ?
Not that this d*ck is going to get elected but the UK is an international laughing stock as it is.

If he thinks he's going to sail home he should maybe take some lessons from Greta Thunberg on how to reach your intended destination.
