Obviously, the BBC have classical music, and The Proms at the moment are great. I have also discovered Sky Arts 2 and found a number of composers that I had never heard of before. But are there any other channels you can recommend, or specific classical music shows that are worth tuning in to?
Which tv stations do you watch classical music on?

I am watching hardly any, as I find watching concerts distracting if I am not physically present.
The fragments I do watch are those included in documentaries, and most of the time I find these less than attractive from a presentation point of view. Having said that, the programmes offered on Sky Arts 2 are sometimes amazing indeed (and I don't mean Andre Rieu ) .

I watch ArteLive about once a week. They hold concerts mostly from Paris (sometimes the Proms or other European festivals) for about a month. It comes free on the internet. They often have Myung Wun Chung and the French Radio Orchestra who as Promenaders will know are pretty good. The soloists are well-known: Argerich, Tibaudet, the Capucons etc. Occasionally there is an opera too. Jazz and chamber music are there. The beauty of their programmes is there is no announcer and the interval is just a wide angle view of the concert hall (usually the Salle Pleyel) with the sound of the audience. The camera men are not as frenetic as those at the Proms.
