BBC 10 O’Clock News Music Education item

Almost incredible to relate but the main BBC news did a piece on the decline in state music education tonight. Although the news in it will be familiar to forumites - particularly teachers - it’s worth noting and viewing because I can’t remember the last time the main TV news covered this important issue. It was also a good piece - heavily featuring the Kanneh-Mason family.

This is pure speculation but Jonny Greenwood specifically mentioned his own state school music education when interviewed on Today about his prom, etc. And it’s not too big a leap from there to a producer taking note and acting. Bravo.

Yes, just seen that. Good on the BBC. And great that the Kanneh Mason family [hope I've spelled them correctly] are joining the outrage against the decline.

This is a web version of the piece. They really are a remarkable family.
