One of our favourite mugs seems to have sprung a hairline leak. Not at all visible once the mug has passed through the dishwasher, but leaks liquid slowly which then stains it - and - more to the point - is inconvenient.
I read elsewhere that some form of superglue can be used to seal the crack, together with claims that the said glue is not going to present any toxicity problems. Maybe the most sensible thing is to take that one out of use, other than for storing trinkets or pencils etc., but it is a bit of a shame.
Presumably the manufacturers who sell these in boxes of 4, and then stop selling them after a few years know a thing or two about how to keep their businesses afloat.
