What might be interesting now is for BBC or some other news organisation to tell us which Conservative party MP's are NOT throwing their hats into the leadership ring...

Surely what was fought and died for was the right to vote or not.
I haven't voted in a general or local election for years.

Fall, more likely - but seriously, she might end up being one of the few (not the many) who declines to put forward her name for this poisoned chalice of a post...

Given that the favourite rarely wins in leadership contests, and an unexpected winner emerges, I suppose it might be worth putting a bob or two on Chris Grayling.

Or maybe just a bob or two on him not being chosen as a cabinet minister.

Well, he does have experience and a track record …

Yes but timetables are not his forte - I wouldn’t take him on for a probationary period! I see that back-bench carper Rees-Mogg has not stepped up to the hustings! Obviously Jacob’s Ladder is on the lower rungs!

With plenty of proxies stepping up to the mark why carry the can yourself?

Ay well mm - to mix a couple of metaphors - beware of those who set the hare running whilst keeping their own powder dry!

Heartening to see this thread in good, vigorous health.
                            Theoretical Future Stratagem:

                            1) Start thread on political event/controversy.
                            2) Return briefly to moan about how it's all going.
                            3) Get outta the way fast.

Relevance to thread.... Results of EU Elections later tonight....
These really do matter, this time.

Off to the woods and fields now. I like to think of them as Bohemian.

Quite possibly he is treating the rest of the field as stalking horses.
