We'll be OK as long as it doesn't go to penalties.

I believe there is the possibility of a Super Over now the tournament has reached the knock-out stage

Thank you for pointing this out. Apparently the Super Over has been around since 2008 in 20-over matches and 2011 in 1-day internationals.

Superb performance by England today to stuff the old enemy. Having backed themselves into a corner three games ago they’ve found the form of the last couple of years and now are the proverbial one game away from glory. And even better, Channel 4 are showing the final (as they should be able to for all internationals, of course).

How do forumites see the final going.....?

I saw England beat NZ down the road a few days ago and it was all very easy ..... but this is cricket every game is different. But to have 2 opening batsmen and 2 opening bowlers on top form is helpful to say the least ........

Agreed. I also think Archer has made a real difference. He’s the paciest bowler Eng have found for ages. The Ashes will be great.

Except that Woakes, as usual, is the quiet troublemaker for many batting sides. Not a bad bat or field either...........?

A good toss to lose today. Woakes bowled superbly and deserved the man of the match, he and Archer have proved to be an effective opening bowling attack throughout the tournament. Buttler's run-out of Smith was a remarkable piece of cricket - between Smith's legs! There have been some extraordinary examples of fielding (not least NZ against India yesterday, watch out England). England's dip mid-tournament coincided with Roy's injury and his replacement by the unconvincing Vince, but Roy's pairing with Bairstow makes a lethal combination to open the batting. Why not continue with these openers for the Test matches? Australia's opening bowling attack will likely be similar to what we saw today.

A bottle of Camel Valley fizz is already on ice to take to Lord's.

NZ have been watching, plotting, waiting.
Can England get themselves up for the Final as they did for the semis?
                          Hmm.

England poor at chasing an average total on a less than great pitch (not a "minefield") Not for the first time! In every other scenario they are tactically adept
