Pretty much going to form. Ind, Aus, Eng, NZ were overwhelmingy the pundits choices for the semis before it all began.

Eng might get a bit of a jolting on tomorrow [Frid]? Just a thought.

Id like to see a close game, but sadly miss watching Sangakkara and the wonderful Jayawardene.

Cricket: England in prime and undiluted self-destruct mode as I watch - bit like our politics at the mo.
I can scarcely believe what I'm seeing.

          ........and it's happened.

You’ve watched England Playing cricket before, right?

Don’t forget we got well and truly beaten by West Indies in the test series ..... I always suspect No.1 and/or favourites was a little OTT .......

Massive difference between a tournament and a bilateral series. England have bigged themselves up for the last 2 years completely pointlessly and are going to look extremely stupid if they don’t make it to the semi finals.

That was a real wake up call of a tour, wasn't it!

Odd thing is our "boring" old one day set up with Alistair Cook, Ian Bell etc. would probably have won this one. England only had to play out time to get to the target. The good news. Stokes played properly for the situation. Malinga thinks it was keeping him quiet that lead to Sri Lanka's victory* but there were 3 overs left with only 20 odd needed when Stokes was left "high and dry".

To Lord’s for the first of five matches. A responsible and entertaining first innings from Pakistan set a competitive total that left SA playing catch-up, with result that they are the first team out of the competition. I would not have predicted that.

                                Big match tomorrow.
