    .

... given that Kafka wanted his works destroyed, I'm rather surprized that Kafka fans here even admit to having read him.

    .

[ ... and of course the same applies to Publius Vergilius Maro, "don't publi** us" to his friends. ]

It's all about fundraising, my dear chap - but we do all rub along pretty well together (ooh, Matron!) and it's hardly my fault that most of my co-volunteers are female.

If I had a pound for every time folks have said that to me, I'd be rich beyond Topol's dreams. My default response is that it just goes to show that unlike poles attract.

I would refer the honourable Forumista to the answer I gave previously.

If I was, this thread would have died a death with 0-3 contributions. Yet here we are, 23 pages later....

I know it’s not a competition, but I doubt if any of your own threads have done as well.

It’s not the green-eyed beast, is it?

Well … since you asked … a thread which I started last years has currently racked up 378 messages on 38 pages - not that I would mention it, of course. And there are plenty of threads besides which my own modest contribution pales into insignificance.

....While most of my threads don't even get past the first page....I do have an 189pager (yes, even with the banal ol'rubbish I offer)....and THAT when I'm going for the 'wittiest' category....
