The lady wife and I have managed to convince ourselves that a certain celebrated conductor (or possibly a singer), possibly German or Austrian, owned or lived in a castle to which he would retreat when his schedule permitted, or was at least (in)famous for being very reclusive when not on the podium or stage. Can anybody out there suggest of whom we might be thinking, or have we imagined the whole thing?
Who lives (or lived) in a castle?

Sorry, my great grandfather was a butler, not a musician of any sort.It isn't given us to know those rare moments when people are wide open and the lightest touch can wither or heal. A moment too late and we can never reach them any more in this world.

Sounds and sweet airs, that give delight and hurt not.
Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments
Will hum about mine ears, and sometime voices..."
