    A BBC Music DVD

I've just watched again, with great pleasure, a DVD which I bought in a charity shop a few months ago. Called 'A Night At the Proms', it features Beethoven's 4th piano concerto with Andreas Haefliger and the BBC SSO conducted by Martyn Brabbins and Nielsen's 4th symphony with the BBC SO conducted by Osmo Vanska. It is numbered BBC Music DVD 001, but doesn't appear to have been issued with the BBC Music Magazine. I was just wondering whether this was a one-off? The performances were recorded in 2004 and 2005 respectively.

It was, in fact, issued as the cover disc of the month with BBC Music magazine instead of a CD but was a one off experiment that has not been repeated. I suspect that they thought that DVD might become a more significant medium for music than it has proved to be ?

Thank you - I've now discovered these details - printed in VERY small type - on the spine!
