I’ve got 20,000 comics in the cellar and it’s mostly his fault, God bless him. He and the other great creators of Marvel ignited my imagination as a child, and what’s left of that imagination is due in part to them all. Excelsior!

Yeah, muzzer, my sister used to work in a rather seedy shop in the West End of Paisley called 'Yankee Mags', and I used to go in and get second hand Marvels, and then in later days there was a time, usually a Thursday at the end of the month, when all the Monthly Marvels arrived and we'd head off to the pub for a right good read. He was a great inspiration for lots of the comics, British and American which came after. There'll only ever be ONE Stan Lee! Excelsior indeed.

Ach! Rotten news - I was hoping he'd reach his centenary before clobberin' time: muzzer sums up my own history (aged 8 - 13). Great fun, wonderful memories.
