I can't for the death of me think which.

Would have to be Kkk to accurate, though I agree on radio the distinction might not be obvious. At least it wouldn't be mistaken for Köchel.
It isn't given us to know those rare moments when people are wide open and the lightest touch can wither or heal. A moment too late and we can never reach them any more in this world.

          .
Thanks for telling me. It is the diacritics as you suspected. At the moment the search only works with standard unaccented characters, the work-around being as ferney suggested, although strictly you don't need the initial and final '*' because the programme adds them for you. You should be able to eliminate Dowland by including 'african' in the work title. (The search isn't case sensitive, by the way.) I'll see if I can get it to accept accented letters while still rejecting other 'unusual' characters (for security reasons).

For ol' smittims' sake, I ran a search on Bernard van Dieren: 0 plays in 400 days

Fęlá Şowándé 10 times, 5 times on Breakfast, 3 times on TTN and twice on EC.

If you change the latest date to 2017-12-31 you might get 3 results for van Dieren.

It seems that the broadcasts, all in one week of April 2017 in the Afternoon Concert, coincided with the issue of a new CD by the BBCNOW.

So you do. But how do you know what date to put in as the 'latest'? I thought the db only went back 400 days, so I put in 400 days in 'days to search'

The database goes back to the end of 2014. I've limited the days to look back to 400 to keep the load on the database to a reasonable level. To search earlier years, you need to change the 'latest date'.

Right, I've got you. I think. So one could try different dates with several searches, each one going back 400 days from whatever latest date has been entered? And then the whole 4-year period could be covered?

                      Yes.

It's a bit of a pain - I might be able to remove the restriction eventually.

Ooooooooooohhh! That's clever! I'd not thought of doing that - but it's obvious now you've mentioned it: why have a "Latest Date" facility otherwise!

                          Been trying the app again.

As far as I can see, there's no easy way to find out what's currently playing.

On iPlayer, there's always a 'show more' option to expand the page to the concert programme; this doesn't seem to be available on Sounds.

                          Am I missing something?
"...the isle is full of noises,
Sounds and sweet airs, that give delight and hurt not.
                          Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments
Will hum about mine ears, and sometime voices..."

I think that if you go to "Sounds", click on the R3 "Listen Live" (currently Choral Evensong) then scroll down to "Recent Tracks", the piece currently being played is first on the list. (At the moment, somebody's talking, so no "track" is shown, but the Gabrieli Canzon a 10 was played "3 mins ago".)

... but it hasn't updated for 19minutes, so, unless somebody's talking too much, I may be wrong.
