Do we have one or two Walls running at present - I'm not sure whether one is meant to be humorous/satirical.

There's bound to be some Springy material by Liszt and Ravel too, but it's not a set that fits within this 4 x 4 wall.

Mmm...that's a bit of an obscure if diligent spot, but again not a set that fits 4 x 4.

          One group is musical instruments.

Take a chunk of their names away and add just one letter. Piccolo, lute, horn etc...….sax maybe?

          Or it could be harp.

Dalla/a out - piccol plus o equals piccolo
Egger out - hon with inserted r equals horn
Oslawski out - lut plus e equals lute
Ger/d out - har plus p equals harp

The problem with this is that the horn one is not a letter added at the end but otherwise it works.

Bax/sax is another, albeit a variation, but unlikely being abbreviated.

            Brainstorm:

Trains/planes etc - Honegger, Walton etc. Possibly Gerhard.
People who took on a different nationality - eg Panufnik - or settled somewhere else - eg Rodney Bennett
Linked to the above "ish" - people whose immediate family was from elsewhere - eg Hovhaness, Honegger etc.
Children - Tippett : Child of Our Time etc.
Metalwork - or similar/Implements - Hone, Pick, Rod, Tip, Pan, Pen? - could even be fishing or mining.

Gerhard, Walton, Hovhaness and Rodney Bennett wrote film scores.

All overkill Lat-Literal and no LMcD!!
Here's a clue: no alphanumeric connections, all musical connections.

And here's a STARTER FOR TEN (or at least FOUR): Hungarian Rhapsody

Oh! So are we back to #30 with Liszt, Bax, Enescu ... but this time with Ravel? (Hungarian, Cornish, Romanian, and Spanish Rhapsodies.)

Cornwall is not, officially, a country

I did pause on that - but then remembered a very vigorous conversation (that started, innocently enough, I thought with a throwaway comment about pasties) that I once had in St Mawes.

                      So not Bax ...

Bingo! Panufnik's Rhapsody was not called 'Polish'.

Please disregard post 89, I failed to realise that a problem remained unresolved. My apologies for the confusion.

Oh, no - it's got me intrigued, gradus: I'm keeping it simmering whilst I stir the current wall!
