I sometimes watch OC - but it took a while to get into.
Does anyone here watch Bake Off? [and be prepared to admit it ...] In the latest series I wonder if Paul Hollywood et al have gone too far - could they actually make the challenges they set in the time and under the same conditions? I'm not convinced.
OTOH I do think Paul H is pretty good, and seems very knowledgeable.

I would be keen on a general quiz thread so long as it doesn't veer strongly towards the big money making ones. I only rarely dip into The Chase which I find a bit cheap. But I'm keen on Round Britain Quiz, Only Connect, Brain of Britain, Pointless, Eggheads, Counterpoint (music!), University Challenge, Mastermind - and the resurrected Puzzle Panel on R4E is a joy.
Quizzes are brilliant because they are safe.
There is nothing of the modish, "newsish" here and now.

But OC is blessedly free of the self-conscious ponderings of the contestants - not least because of the need to work out the puzzles in a much shorter time. And, of course, because of the self-dprecating wit of Victoria Coren-Ferney.
