Is there such a thing as a 'Help! I'm out of my depth' smilie?
Do we have one or two Walls running at present - I'm not sure whether one is meant to be humorous/satirical.
There's bound to be some Springy material by Liszt and Ravel too, but it's not a set that fits within this 4 x 4 wall.
One group is musical instruments.
Take a chunk of their names away and add just one letter. Piccolo, lute, horn etc...….sax maybe?
Or it could be harp.
Dalla/a out - piccol plus o equals piccolo
Egger out - hon with inserted r equals horn
Oslawski out - lut plus e equals lute
Ger/d out - har plus p equals harp
The problem with this is that the horn one is not a letter added at the end but otherwise it works.
Bax/sax is another, albeit a variation, but unlikely being abbreviated.
Trains/planes etc - Honegger, Walton etc. Possibly Gerhard.
People who took on a different nationality - eg Panufnik - or settled somewhere else - eg Rodney Bennett
Linked to the above "ish" - people whose immediate family was from elsewhere - eg Hovhaness, Honegger etc.
Children - Tippett : Child of Our Time etc.
Metalwork - or similar/Implements - Hone, Pick, Rod, Tip, Pan, Pen? - could even be fishing or mining.
I did pause on that - but then remembered a very vigorous conversation (that started, innocently enough, I thought with a throwaway comment about pasties) that I once had in St Mawes.
So not Bax ...
