Oh......nocturnes for orchestra - as in don't have sleepless nights.

Isn't the Bax, though, piano mainly - if it is May Night in Ukraine?

That may be the nature of your asterisk?

Dallapiccola, Penderecki, Walton, Bennett = Partitas.

I've heard of putting the clocks forward/backward, but that seems a bit extreme. Was this a political decision intended to annoy Vladimir P - or secure an unfair advantage in the European Champions league?
It's worth remembering that the 'Only Connect' teams on the telly have only 2 minutes (?) to solve their walls.
I'm afraid that the obscure nature of some of the questions and clues has left me struggling.

Yes - but the teams get to work togther, and the board lets them know immediately when a suggested solution isn't correct (it doesn't have to go off and do a day's work after setting a challenge, and can only check suggested answers when the boss isn't looking! )

            There's a movement called "Nocturne" in Bax's Russian Suite - -- ???

Ukraine is under the secret leadership of the Netherlands which in turn is secretly the 51st American state although Mr Trump has never been told. I have explained this all before. It was arranged by the late Senator McCain and obviously it has a considerable impact on international time zones. Please keep up LMcD, otherwise you will be letting the side down.

Boilk - very well done for setting such a fiendish task and to ferney for getting the final piece right.

Two of my remaining lines need no knowledge of music and the third line is not about music per se although you will need to know a bit about the composers.

                  For "Monpou" read "Mompou".

Sorry - I've been spending quite a lot of time trying to decide whether to lift my dahlias or bank on a mild winter. ALSO, I've been reflecting on the decline in the Tractor Boys' fortunes, thrown into sharp relief as Kevin Beattie's funeral procession passed the statue of Bobby Robson. AND I have yet to decide what book I'm going to read now that I've finished the excellent Anne Tyler's latest offering, which is called 'Clock Dance'.
I promise that I will try to pay more attention to international affairs and get my priorities sorted out.

Sadly it might take more than a new manager to sort out the Tractor Boys' woes.

As with Newcastle, it was very poor again today.

Well L-L, courtesy of your "Alphabet Backwards" YouTube clue, I found that the names of 4 composers have a last letter that aphabetically immediately precedes the first letter.
But naughty Fauré is an 'e' acute accent! Maybe you should have gone for Duparc?

Oh, well done! That makes things much easier, with four Spanish-born composers: Mompou, Gerhard, Breton, and Rodrigo.

Leaving - Hill, Martin, Dawson, and Feldman, I think.

                              Correct and correct.

I sort of take the point on Faure but as I can't type accents I tend to ignore them.

Mompou, Gerhard and Breton were picked out as their names wouldn't necessarily suggest they were from Spain.

See also Arsenal's manager, Mr Emery.

So what links Hill, Martin, Dawson and Feldman please?

Could be - but they're also the names of comedians: Benny Hill, Marty Feldman, Les Dawson, Dick Martin?
