....I rarely watch Serena, though I enjoy watching the Grand Slams....she is full of hysterionics, ugly emotions, outbursts of all sorts....Serena doing her Zombie walks....violent sounds....playacting....special fashion statements....smash smash smash no subtlety....more of all that 10 times over....Ramos is a good umpire, particularly hot on time between points, and top players of any sex flouting them....OUT OF ORDER SERENA, over the top....pride before/after the wotsit....blaa blaa....but dollars in, dollars out....net gain....
....actually it reminded me of Jonathon Aitken....though no tennis connection that i know of....bong ching

It isn't given us to know those rare moments when people are wide open and the lightest touch can wither or heal. A moment too late and we can never reach them any more in this world.

This is McEnroe's record of penalties, including being thrown out of one competition, and fined $10,000 for swearing at linesman at Wimbledon in 1991. A total of almost $70,000 over 25 years ago.

KB....a] read the article....still fail to see the rascism in the cartoon [as BO writes]....Lentin certainly offers no reason/material reason as to why this particular cartoon is rascist [it may be GOATist]....it's humour/sarcasm rests on the fact that such a high paid celebrity GOAT,playing in terms of experience an opponent who is a novice [19 years old in first grand slam final]- has a hissy fit, goes out of control in front of 15,000 people in stadium(10 million TV) at a time when she is loosing. Lentin may be right about aspects of Australian society, but this cartoon is not the vehicle to prove her thesis....blaa blaa
b] if you really have perused a wide range of info on this umpire sexism business, you should have come across many quotes re Ramos being a sound umpire, and also that there are many many cases of repercussions for similar male infringements....Fognini, $96,000 fine + one grand slam ban is the highest profile. All players male and female moan loudly to the umpire at game breaks if they feel aggrieved. Williams completely lost it....got angry- and kept going....and showed herself up [cheered on by a partisan US crowd]bong ching
