What are the items you refuse to own on principle?

Off the top of my head, mine are:

    Watch
    Mirror
    Car
    Dishwasher
    Briefcase
    Freezer
    Umbrella
    Council wheelie bins
    Comb
    Jewellery
    Wall size television
    White underpants
    Golfing attire
    Roll neck jumpers
    Mobile Phone

In my time, I've reneged on a few things I was opposed to - DVD player, microwave, kagoul, soft toy, snooker cue.
Currently under reassessment - pyjamas and slippers; I don't know why I got rid of my globe : I might get another.

    Backing tracks
    Pre-tied bow tie
    Plastic straws
    Amazon Kindle
    Norrington CDs
… etc. (I'll add to the list as I think of more things.)

Apart from the obvious, what is wrong with a Kindle ? You really don’t have to buy anything from them, and they are fab little gadgets.

For myself, more or less anything coloured blue.

I would never get anything where other people have the money to buy into a fashionable word.

Futon, aga, Victorian fireplace, decking, 4 by 4, BBQ set etc....…!

Also, I doubt I'd ever have gnomes.

The balance on your savings account must be a sight to see........

                  If only.

I can't stand kitchen utensils with lots of holes in them. They are a devil to wash. The cheese grater has to be the worst. Second, the colandar. I've never had a need for latex or any rubberware. Can't stand those man garden things which are used every five years. Graham - can you bring that over so I can chop a few twigs? You are welcome - but it would break it.

You wouldn't want one on principle JC?

                          That's very good.

                          Yacht.

                          I wouldn't want a yacht.

                            Books.

Why do we destroy trees to make books when we can use a cleaen, eco-friendly Amazon Kindle that can store thousands of books?

I don't do Kindle but have stopped buying books. And newspapers. I don't own suitcases. Instead, rucksacks, lighter now with age, and holdalls. I thought in 2010 about a static caravan as a way of guaranteeing future income from my redundancy payment but decided against - depreciation, ground rent, maintenance, hassle etc. I wouldn't have a guinea pig or a gerbil.
