Those of us who like sailing (my own boat is an elderly and worth-not-a-lot sloop) find it a bit galling when the possession of a 'yacht' is used to suggest someone has unbounded wealth. The word can mean anything from a ship (of the sort the very late Robert Maxwell owned) to a small elderly boat like mine. In case anyone's interested, mine's worth less than the average family car.
Going back to the thread subject, I hate with a passion huge Chelsea Tractoes, SUVs.....call them what you will...gas-guzzling 4-wheel-drive monsters. They appear to turn their drivers (apologies to Forumistas who have one!) into monsters too.
