I think it looks OK but it's insubstantial. A little sorry to lose the Contemporary music button but I'll now have to scan the schedules instead. From R3s point of view, that's a good thing, I expect.

I've forgotten the old site already which, I suppose, suggests it wasn't indispensable to me. Therefore, probably, neither will this be.

Seems a bit muddly at first but quite a lot there. Glad the 'Discovering Music' Archive is still available. I've listened to that quite a lot in the past.

I'm not keen on the "Q magazine" layout. Too designer. Too messy. The content though is very good. I particularly like the way they have brought together cd reviews from the past few years by genre. They might have been there before, of course, but I don't think so, at least not in the same way.

What we have here, as promised, is the easing of station demarcation. The reviews I have seen are drawn from R2 and 6music in addition to R3. There is the chance to consider all the output in one place and then explore other areas. This could just be an argument for enabling slightly more flexibility on the FoR3 forum. That would enable wider advertising. However, the other argument is that this is a retrograde step from the BBC which might further water down the distinctive R3 objectives.

One thing I've noticed - it was a big moan when the layout of the BBC forums was changed, particularly along with the powder blue on R4 - is the current obsession with lines that are hardly visible. This features on the new design and, dare I say it, here too but not in a bad way. I suppose it is the current fashion and it does fit in with the new overall approach by the BBC. Nevertheless it can be a little confusing on the eye.

Why can't I listen in HD any more? I clicked on the link this morning and, instead of the player opening, I get another page with the 'Listen in HD' link. Stupid. Or is it me?

I assume this will be sorted out when Mr Gilson's team gets round to it - it has been flagged up on the blog.
It isn't given us to know those rare moments when people are wide open and the lightest touch can wither or heal. A moment too late and we can never reach them any more in this world.

Thanks, ff. I have since found that it's ok in Firefox but not in Google Chrome. (Is the latter the bee's knees or a pain in the arse? I can't decide.)

So what am I doing wrong? The button simply opens a pop-up Help box which has an identical HD button which opens another pop-up Help box...

(I'm foolishly using Firefox 5 and have therefore lost my google toolbar )

Mysteries of the Universe No. 36,241 it would seem. What you experience with Firefox 5 is exactly what I get with Chrome. I have no problems in Firefox 5!

I'm wondering if it's to do with Adobe Flash Player.

In Safari the button works - a pop-up and then you have to click again to Play. Great!

In Camino and Opera I get a big white page, with a thumbnail of Sarah Walker and a message to 'Download Adobe FlashPlayer to view this page'.

I'm on a Mac and have had some trouble downloading the latest version of Adobe Flash Player anyway.

Right - if anyone else has had this problem. I uninstalled Flash Player - and then got the same message as I'd had with Opera and Camino. Reinstalled and it's now working with FF5 - but still not with the others. Thankfully, it is still working with Safari - and the thumbnail of SW and details of the programme show just beneath the HD pane.

An eyesore. The schedule page is an affront to good design. Who did it? Was it an under-5's project at a local school? Did I miss a text-me your answers to this question on Breakfast - winner gets to redesign the website?
