Lost in translation

I wanted an English translation of a Sibelius work Sandels (Op 28 - text by Johan Ludvig Runeberg) - see https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zHa3Lji3XPI
which appears only to be available in a couple of non English languages online at present (though there is a copy in the notes for the BIS Sibelius set I believe ...). It is an entertaining story. See http://www.lieder.net/lieder/get_tex...?TextId=122884

The music makes a bit more sense if a translation is available. Google translate isn't really too bad, but won't handle the whole text.

Never come across the work. (despite being my favoured footwear at this time of year)
Chandos have all the texts + translation for the complete BIS Edition as pdf. (p 130)

Indeed - I think that's where I got the texts from - though I did think it was BIS - which it is - but seems to be on the Chandos site as you mention. Thanks for that.

Do give the piece in question a listen - preferably with the text to hand.

I only got into this today as a friend mentioned he liked wearing sandels at this time of year. I wondered when he wears his sandals!

Google translates sandels as sandalwood. Third ear translates it as myth!
