    Wagner on Sky Arts 2

I thought that those with Sky might be interested in the veritable feast of Wagner operas coming up over the next week or so, incase you haven't spotted it yet:-

For the rest of this week, the Valencia Ring Cycle:-

On Saturday afternoon, Lohengrin from Baden Baden, under Kent Nagano:-

On Saturday evening, Tannhauser, again from Baden-Baden:-

Early on Sunday morning- set the recorder!! - Tristan from the Met:-

And finally, on Sunday afternoon, Parsifal, again from Baden-Baden:-

All in HD, and with accompanying documentaries. The only drawback is that I'm rapidly going to run out of space on my Hard Disc!

    Fantastic stuff.

I expect that someone will soon be asking when this forum is going to stop giving so much space to programming on Sky! The answer is "when the BBC starts to show anything on a remotely comparable scale"!

On a completely unrelated matter, what some excellent programmes Sky Arts produced from Hay this year: including some excellent lectures/presentations from Maureen Lipman, Melvin Bragg and, especially, Germaine Greer on the various translations of the psalms.

Agreed. Fine voices - Wotan and Fricka good. Freia looks like a refugee from The Simpsons, and I don't like the fact that in all that hooding, Loge has no wing mirrors for his scooter. Elf and Safety. Journey to and from Nibelheim excellent. Snake terriific fun too.
