    Alexander Goehr interview: RCM Oral History series

    I've just found this remarkable interview from 2013. Among many subjects, Goehr talks about his early life; his family's emigration from Germany in 1932 and what this meant; his father Walter Goehr's music and vital work at the BBC - you'll be amazed by what you learn! - the contribution of immigrant composers at the time such as Roberto Gerhard, Matyas Seiber, Leopold Spinner and Karl Rankl; Brit composers Tippett, Bush and Britten; well known poets and critics in the family circle; and William Glock. Of great interest to anyone interested in the situation of British music, post-war especially, this is well worth setting an hour and a quarter aside for:
