I just found out about another tool for writing - Ulysses. It seems OK for anyone who wants such a tool, but I have managed to not know
of its existence for so many years that my suspicion is that most people won't go there. Unfortunately (IMO) the developers seem to have decided to opt recently for a subscription model, and while that might be appropriate for new users who presumably know what they're signing up to, it seems to have put the noses of existing users rather out of joint. [See the reviews in the Apple App store]
There is a 14 day trial (Mac version at least) for anyone who wants to give it a go.
I have used (and bought) similar software in the past - such as Scrivener - which is occasionally very useful.
I do recommend the free trial of that software for anyone who wants to try it - https://www.literatureandlatte.com/scrivener/overview -
and it may be useful for a rather long while :-)
Not everyone will find such tools useful, but for people who want to, or whose job is to, write and publish text, some of the features of these tools are definitely very helpful.
