Valencia Ring on Sky Arts 2 next week

A quick heads up for anybody fortunate enough to enjoy Sky TV:-

I'm delighted to see that next week on Sky Arts 2, and in HD, there's to be a broadcast of the highly acclaimed Fura Del Baus Ring Cycle from Valencia. I have been contemplating buying this on DVD or Blu-Ray - at considerable expense!- but I'll now watch and record it instead.

(And if that's not enough Wagner, next Saturday, Lohengrin from the Met. )

Thank goodness there is still one broadcaster who takes Classical music seriously!

Thanks for that. Sadly I don't think those nice chaps at Sky will have installed my free upgrade of my HD box before the first broadcast, but hopefully it will be repeated and I can record the whole thing.

It's certainly a massive saving on the blu-ray box set which I was toying with purchasing last week. I'm relieved that in the end I only plumped for the highlights disc. Phew...! Haven't had a chance to view it yet, though.
