    Tenner ladies.

Not taking the P, but four women represented on the new note? O.K, one's mythical and another just signed the promissory, but this is not equality, it's a takeover.

    'Bout time too!
It isn't given us to know those rare moments when people are wide open and the lightest touch can wither or heal. A moment too late and we can never reach them any more in this world.

Though I would rather it had been the outrageously unsung Rosalind Franklin than the internationally renowned Jane Austen.

How many years has it been the other way round?

An entirely appropriate choice IMV. As AA Gill pointed out, in a review of some TV adaptation or other, JA's novels are all about negotiating the exchange of money and property for sex.

Apparently it's only worth £8.60 now.

I'm not sure that Rosalind Franklin is that 'unsung' anymore. There are numerous awards and medals named after her, as well as lecture theatres, buildings and research institutes. For example, the Royal Society's Rosalind Franklin Award, the Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science in Chicago, the Rosalind Franklin Biotechnology Center in Delft, the Rosalind Franklin Building in Nottingham etc etc. She was also the recipient of a 'Google doodle' showing her gazing at a double helix structure of DNA.

Recognition of her contribution to the discovery of DNA was woefully late, and the acclaim awarded to her now is much deserved, but unsung she ain't.

The whole theory of modern education is radically unsound. Fortunately in England, at any rate, education produces no effect whatsoever. If it did, it would prove a serious danger to the upper classes, and probably lead to acts of violence in Grosvenor Square."

With all my... "savings" I was well on the way to becoming a millionaire, before they stopped raising them.
