Calum was one of the select band of highly distinctive contributors whose writing draws me daily to these boards. I'm glad we became virtual acquaintances and send my deepest sympathies to his family and friends. R.I.P.

Calum was one of the reasons I felt at home on the R3 messageboards.

      He will be missed.

Condolences to family and friends everywhere.

RIP Calum. Say hello to Ossie for me.

Come pay your respects like we do down here in Nawlin's. Experience a real New Orleans second line jazz funeral for the lovely and talented Juanita Brooks.

Echoed wholeheartedly. And thanks for the eloquent original post 8tho.

          Malcolm is very sadly missed

Sounds and sweet airs, that give delight and hurt not.
          Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments
Will hum about mine ears, and sometime voices..."

And from me. I've greatly enjoyed Calum's idiosyncratic posts since the days of the old R3 messageboard. Not knowing him outside this virtual world he always seemed a very kind man. So good to put a face to the name (thank you ff) albeit too late.

I have only just seen this terribly sad news, having been away from the forum for a while. I greatly admired Calum's posts on every kind of topic and his lovely, distinctive style.

                RIP

Very sad. We knew something was amiss when he disappeared from the forum, later learning of his illness. His contribution here was immeasurable.

Quite so... though on the bright side I'm happy to report that Mr Improv is alive and well, we even ran into each other once, and we're quite often in touch.
