        This reminded me of a story about Hector Berlioz who was present at a performance when a dog wandered on stage and disgraced itself. Berlioz stood up from his seat and shouted: 'There goes an honest critic'!

          In the version I heard the animal was an elephant during a performance of Aida, and Beecham said" Disgusting manners, but what a critic!"
