Sun is shining at the moment here but clouds around so showers expected. Continuing the Hornimans connection. I can remember Horniman’s tea - an orangy coloured packet if my memory serves. Apparently now owned by Douwe Egberts - don’t know if the Hornimans name is still used or they still do tea!

Sharp frost last night and cold today, but enough sun to offset it. Tomorrow looks to be suitable for carrying on garden tidying(especially ongoing disturbance of rat runs and hidey holes) with sun and much less wind.
Apparently there is going to be a colourful lunar eclipse in a couple of days time; given my recent sleep issues there is a chance I might be awake to see it, except of course for sod's law which says that will be the night I get to sleep before 3.30am.....or that it will be a cloudy night.

Had to rethink garden activities. It was very cold last night - the thermometer outside the back door showed -5 minimum - and although sunny and clear everything was too frozen to be able to achieve much of use, and repeated tramping on the lawn to access potential work areas was definitely not a good idea.

Lovely winter afternoon here, managed to get a decent afternoon walk in. Cool , sunny, hardly any breeze.
John Dankworth's Zodiac Variations for company. Extremely enjoyable.
The Sky ten minutes ago. Five minutes later it was slate grey.

Clouds do make for some interesting effects at sunrise/sunset don't they? That reminds me of the Bernat Klein dress prints that my aunt favoured.
It was more gold than pink here and clear. The supermoon is currently lighting up the kitchen and as it gets higher will probably make silver circles on the floor, underneath where I have suntubes(!) in the ceiling; I sometimes think I have left a light on when that happens.

The next week looks likely to be on the cold side, though not severely so.

Well I was awake at the appropriate time(not from choice) and it was indeed cloudy, so no sight of the lunar eclipse, red or otherwise. A smidgeon less cold last night(-4 rather than -5), and the temperature rose during the night judging by the differing frost coverage on parked cars - I would much rather have been asleep so I didn't know that.....
A murky start to the day; the sun is doing its best but I don't know whether it'll drive off the mist anytime soon - I won't say 'burn off', not least because at these temperatures it seems even more inaccurate than usual!
