... yep - the barograph is trundling round at abt 1045 - and the paper roll has a range from 950 to just over 1050.

Yesterday I was very cold going up the road to the hospital for my hospital appointment. I think it was 5C! This was around 09am.

Today much the same I guess?

Yep - almost exact replica of yesterday in every way. If the cloud breaks as predicted, tonight could deliver a moderate frost, and tomorrow night, especially in your neck of the woods, BBM. Get those potted perennials into a sheltered nook somewhere for their protection!

Bit nippy down here, but the forecast looks mild and settled for a while yet, which is pretty good news.
Having to alter business appointments because of transport issues in Jan/ Feb can be a right pain.

The next couple of days look likely to be colder in the south, with the possibility of fog and all that that entails, especially in your neck of the woods teamy. After that temperatures should recover by Monday to just below what they were over the Xmas period, and it should stay dry. I nearly wrote remain. Must get out of that habit!

Only a couple of degrees higher but cancelled out by a cold wind we didn't have yesterday. At least the sun shining warms up my south-facing living room on an otherwise cold day. Oh well, a couple of months of this will make us appreciate things more when the spring does arrive!

Certainly milder today. No heating on! Alas , no sun.

The sun's gone in now, but while I was on my walk it was out - plus blue sky and mild temperature. Can't remember the last time in January when I had to take my coat off on a walk...

Thick mist/fog/dreech up here - fells invisible. Still, damp, cold.

Another dull and dreary day here, methinks. Elsewhere I see not so good. Especially Scotland.

I'm not sure which is having the more depressing effects on my mood right now - the low light levels, which we didn't experience this time last winter; the unexplained doubling of my gas charges, which I'm making a lot of calls about at the moment; or the news!

I find weather related glumness makes it far more difficult to tolerate/deal with man-made drear - especially when things meteorological exacerbate things arthritic.
It is much milder today, dryish(no actual rain but occasional spits and a general feeling that really the clouds would like to see some action if they weren't rather broken and batting along at a rate of knots) - and grey.
Hope you can sort the gas charges - you haven't got to the end of a fixed rate tariff have you?
