Nastiness massing E/SE on strong wind and louring skies. Last of leaves being unceremoniously stripped.
Wouldn't want to be long on fell tops today.

Very draughty today and not a lot of sunshine thanks to cloud massing at the end of the morning but still, not unpleasant, and the trees are looking lovely even without the sun.

Chucking it down and windy. A ‘not going out’ day!

We're due to get that tonight it would seem. If all goes to plan then the daytime should be pleasant, if a bit boisterous still on the wind front. On the plus side the gusts are good at getting the neighbour's apple tree to finish shedding fruit all over the bottom of my garden, so before too long clearing them will be one less job I need to do. I do keep some, but they are not good eaters and rather indifferent cookers.

It appears likely to remain on the mild side for the whole of next week, with temperatures for Thursday even approaching 16C here in the south. Tomorrow and Sunday should be excellent days for cloud spotting: lots of thunder-type clouds anticipated in a broad showery-type airstream.

              Mild............erm?
Right..............well, up here, a roaring easterly is driving drenches of freezing rain up the Dales. It is seriously nasty.

Likewise down here, Draco. Serious storm indeed. Felt almost hurricane force? SA?

Just about to hit here - impenetrable blackness bearing down inexhorably from the NW!!!

Serves me right - a mere three hours after posting about the lovely weather yesterday, the skies darkened and the wind picked up, so that by this morning the poppy-red leaves of my Aster were mostly on the ground (symbolic for tomorrow, I suppose). A similar course today - fine, sunny, and yes mild weather this morning, overcast and promising rain this afternoon.

                    Well - we're nearly half-way through November.

                      Brilliant sunshine earlier today.
Still relatively bright, and certainly mild: I have walked twice to the local shops today without needing a jacket.
Washing drying quite nicely outdoors, as there's a bit of breeze.
Mind you, there was some very heavy rain yesterday, and on Wednesday it never really got light!

Absolutely vile here, poured all afternoon in Southampton, and the mood not helped by the never ending weekend engineering works on the rails ( what is it they actually improve, it sure isn’t the ******** signalling between Waterloo and Woking) , chaos on the Southampton Roads ( how can closing off one exit from a major roundabout cause SO much delay ? ).

Saints £50k a week footballers saw fit to treat us to their groundhog day “ throwing away a lead against a mediocre team” performance, only this time, just for variety, in the pouring rain.

Horrrible drive home in the dark and rain, as a Prokofiev CD skipped merrily on the sound system .
I will not be pushed, filed, stamped, indexed, briefed, debriefed or numbered. My life is my own.

I am not a number, I am a free man.

Looks like more of the same here. Up the road from us is flooded!

It rained heavily overnight but at present it's a blustery sunny dry autumn day. Flags and hats may be a challenge for Remembrance ceremonies but at least most should stay dry hereabouts. Commiserations to those of you not so fortunate - presumably it's the upside of being on the East when the weather is from the West.

Beautiful sunny day here today. Not only did I go for my walk without a coat, but during the latter half of the walk, I also took my cardigan off.

Looks as though the clouds and rain have given way to the sun!
