Strange how that happens. I’m sure it’s the person that’s being buried having the last laugh!

Going to be raining again tomorrow and I think Monday too and I’m have a cold!

Well I certainly hope no one else got drenched in today's prolonged downpour. Almost half an inch fell between 9 am and 2 pm in London. The only surprise was that the cold front responsible only produced one flash of lightning, and that was for the enjoyment of the inhabitants of Dorset.

A British storm-chaser has produced this nice little youtube from a stay over in the States last May. Judging by the cloud forms depicted I'm surprised at the preponderance of surface-based storms in the first half, as these don't make up most of the thundery activity over there, to my understanding.

You might first like to neutralise the backing track, consisting solely as it does of pretty dreadful New Age-type music:

The downpour was similar to hear, SA. Brightened up later though!

Wet throughout much of the day here yesterday. Ironically proved good for visitor numbers as folks looked for undercover activities. Working outside rather uncomfortable as it was quite warm so waterproofs quickly became sticky - difficult to strike a balance between externally applied and internally induced wetness!
The next few days are forecast to be warm(rather than hot) and dry so I think the garden beckons, to deal with some of the damage from the extreme heat and dryness now that plants are beginning to show which have survived.

Pretty much impenetrable 99% statocumulus layer in this humid maritime tropical airstream, as one would have expected at this time of the year, one would think, not having paid attention to the forecasts over the past few days as they don't vary them enough with warnings of impending disasters or heatwaves any more.

We going to the Duxford Air Show, the third weekend in September. I hope the weather be ok. Otherwise it won't be worth going!

Rather a blustery day today and overcast. Hope no rain.

Deceptive looking at present - windy and thick grey cloud - but outside is actually reasonably warm and rain is considered unlikely.

20 degs C dewpoint - highest this year so far. No wonder it feels like a sauna out there, and the cloud base is as low as it is! I just can't be fished to do anything exerting outdoors while this maritime tropical air régime lasts. Roll on Friday, when it's predicted to freshen up - even if that means showers!

BTW I understand the Biggin Hill airshow had to be cancelled owing to the low cloud.

I’ve managed somehow to get a cold!

It would be a good day today as well!

                                Weather doesn’t look much outside?
