Stormy Weather II

The forecast change didn't happen as quickly as thought so the gardening stint yesterday was rather more uncomfortable than expected, but the temperature suddenly dropped early evening, and today is 10 degrees cooler. The possibility of rain seems to be in 'next day' mode(ie moving from forecast day to the next along), so watering may still be needed. Pleasant enough in the sun but shaded spots exposed to the breeze(such as the town's new(ish) shopping centre - why do such places never take any account of the effects of weather conditions?) are a tad fresh.

The "experts" don't seem too sure about the weekend weather. That front out to the west is expected to cross tomorrow, bringing more rain to northern areas as it passes than the south, but they're not sure what wil happen to it on Sunday: will it stall along the east coast, and if so, be re-invigorated by that hot air streaming up to its east from the Med, thus bringing the strong likelihood of thunderstorms, travelling north from a line roughly from Brighton through London and up through E Anglia to Lincs and Yorks. It all hinges on whether or not the blocking high over E Europe remains strong or gives way - if the latter then we'll be free of that pesky front and all be in coolish weather, with showers here and there.

Yes, SA, they used several models and each one was inconclusive. We will wait and see, although we should be getting some rain later on today.Don’t cry for me

Today, in the Land of the Loch Ness Monster, has been the first day of summer. We have actually had our meals outside and have had to keep covered to avoid sunburn. Long may it continue.Money can't buy you happiness............but it does bring you a more pleasant form of misery - Spike Milligan
