We had a flurry down here. Nothing special. I think it's going to be partly cloudy down here.

All bets seem to be on for a cold winter this year, with northerly winds predominating, though there is still much hedging around whether Christmas will be white. I was explaining to the Greek gentleman in Flat 14 that "a white Christmas" in this country means just one snowflake needing to be observed in any one location for it to be so declared.

Ah, I expect in our area, SA, it won't be too bad. Hoping!

Not too bad a day yesterday. Going out to see friends this evening so be rather good that!

Hmmm - is Haywards Heath is on sandy ground? if so that would make the area more prone to harder frosts. Something to do with sandy ground drying out more readily than clay surfaces - retained dampness tending to keep surface temperatures higher.

The rawness made it feel much colder than the 5 C on the thermometer here just now when I took to the cycle.

Sunshine for the delivery of my Christmas tree. Next I need to get Santa, the robins and angels and the Christmas pudding out of the cardboard box. The idea was to have a selection of soft toys around the base this year but from the research I have to date undertaken most of the ones manufactured in 2017 don't have good enough smiles. So it's now a real dilemma.

To comply with Politically Correct rules pertaining in the Borough of South Kirstywark, berries on holly must be red; misletoe is only to be used for traditional practices and in the presence of fully qualified third parties; Santa is disallowed home visits as a pizza delivery service extra, only contracted to arrive down chimneys; and Auld Lang Syne must be pre-printed in all languages spoken within a six mile radius and posted online to all council tax payers excepting those exempted for compulsory singing in Gaelic. It's tough round here for those not in possession of all the necessaries.

Thanks for corecting me there, Bbm.

Off out now for a nice long(ish) stroll while there's still some daylight, on a nice weekend with reasonable temperatures not requiring an overcoat - before the predicted blizzard hits on Thursday. They seem to be quite serious about this one - especially if you're north of Enfield.

Female blackbird just headbutted herself to oblivion against my living room window - that's sad.

Well, oop 'ere, we are seriously copping it.
Great billowing curtains of thickest rain sweeping in on a fierce, fierce westerly.
Sadly it has more or less extinguished a traditional town evening festival, emptying streets in minutes and forcing the closure of all manner of street entertainments.

Well, at least the Reds are handing it out at Anfield!!
