The thunderstorm threat has been downgraded to just scattered outbreaks, it now seems - but not the high temperatures for tomorrow and Monday. No further rain seems likely for another week, and then only on and off, as winds remain in the NE quadrant.

Going up...
The temperature forecasts have been changing frequently, and had been going down somewhat but today's high is currently showing as 26(and increase from the previous predicted high) and tomorrow 29(ditto). There is now possibility of thunderstorms appearing on Sunday's forecast to add to the mix. The cold airflow continues which will help a bit, but it also greatly increases the chance of burnt skin.

28C in the shade right now - I guess we might squeeze a 29C this afternoon, here on south London's favourite mountain. I guess we're fortunate in our elevated situation (I nearly wrote status!): other parts around London have recorded 31C, which would be 88F in the old money. We've been watching vigorous cumulus cloud growth to the south and west, which will be interesting to see if it reaches precipitacious levels later this afternoon. All the kids in the block are out enjoying the garden hose, albeit something of a trickle, with a large old-fashioned bath someone found in an outhouse being used to catch the leak further up-pipe.
I think thunderstorms are probably more likely to break out widely tomorrow, which would scupper my intended visit to the Brixton windmill - walking tour £12 per head, inclusive I think of tea and cakes in the garden.
