Tonight and through tomorrow that aforementioned warm front will attempt to push its wide precipitation belt north into the southern part of England and maybe S Wales; meanwhile all parts further north will still be in the unstable northerly régime, with snow showers, and maybe even one or two thunderstorms in the mix: nice cumulonimbus cloud shots on the lunchtime reports from Scotland!

Looking forward to hearing all your news, fellow posters!
Sunny, with a cold wind, but no snow here.

Much the same here. It's actually quite pleasant out despite the cold wind and it's ideal walking weather.

Sleety showers as I passed through Windsor about an hour ago.

Just cold and with some sun today. The forecast looks like definite snow tomorrow, however, with a max temp of about 3.

This morning was damp, grey and cold. There seemed to have been a fair bit of rain during the night but none of the more solid precipitation that was forecast nor a frost. After midday it started to brighten such that I could put out some washing and also do some garden pottering. Towards the end of my time outside I noticed small white bits falling on the soil around me and initially assumed they were the petals of the wild plum in the bed I was weeding. However when the "petals" started making a pattering noise as they hit my jacket I did a rethink... It didn't come to anything and 5 minutes later the cloud responsible had moved away and the sun came out again. Set to be frosty cold tonight, so Wednesday's gardening stint might be more of an observation exercise than actual gardening. In the run-up to opening for the season that's not necessarily a bad thing - noting where plants need trimming or tying back next to paths, or where there are still leaves to clear off beds to let early flowers show up.

Ditto here now, but yesterday was for us up here a near perfect Spring day. Eheu!

It's 2C and hasn't stopped snowing since around 7AM. Doesn't appear to be settling though.

About a centimetre did fall overnight here, but with the temperature rising above freezing most has melted, and precipitation has been alternating between mostly light rain and snow. 2-3 Celsius is an interesting transition zone determining if precipitation be rain, sleet or snow.

Small bursts of sleet (more like "hard rain" this afternoon. 3°C.

Yeah. Upon opening the door for my walk this afternoon the precipitation sounded like rain and for a moment I thought about going back inside to get my brolly. Fortunately though it was just snow and dealt with just by having my hood up.

Very cold during the night, temperature got above freezing around dawn and until about 10 am wasn't too bad out. However the easterly wind then picked up considerably and it all got very cold indeed courtesy of wind chill. Gardening was runny nose, frozen hands and intermittent pelting with various sizes of graupel. Little chat and no inclination to stand and stare at everything coming back to life, it was very much head down, keep moving, and then go home.
At least today was dry; tomorrow looks horrid as the precipitation is forecast not only to be most of the day but also mostly of the wet kind, with the wind continuing its unpleasantness.

We had about an inch and a half of settled snow this morning, and more as the morning went on.

All melting now. Cats not thrilled, really.

Just a few flakes here this morning.
Enough to get the kids at school well wound up though!

Still snowing! And now it's sort of settling.
