Not sure quite what to say other than massive sympathy all round. A concatenation of potential/actual woes with which I couldn’t cope. So, respect, hang on in there!

Thank you! I have for the past six years now, lol!

A more manageable temperature today, I think. 22C. Completely blue sky!

Yes, very nice today. Sunny with a fresh wind, currently about 20.

A miniature fig tree or bush we have in a container suddenly came close to collapse yesterday. I noticed that the leaves were looking a bit droopy two days ago, but thought not to water it because yesterday evening's cloudburst would provide sufficient. But this morning half the leaves were on the ground. I gave it half a canfull of water this afternoon once the sun had gone around the back of the building; I suppose I have to hope this will have done the trick and the poor thing will recover. Somehow I had imagined fig trees to be drought-resistant, given their usual location.

Looks like the temperature is once more set to rise as the week proceeds, with a change back to cool and unsettled coming at the weekend!

Should be 22C today. That’s quite manageable for me.

Wishing all fellow and otherwise followers of our special thread a Very Happy Summer Solstice.

Message to all: make the most of the next few days, as it's all change this coming Saturday, by the looks of things, and a reversion to the usual sort of summer those of us now getting a bit long in the tooth are well used to.

I have a small fig tree that spent several years in a tub and then 2 years ago was planted out in the ground. It established well, but the past few weeks it has been flagging; the one fruit set dropped off and the leaves are drooping all the time. I'll just have to hope that it will hang on until we get some rain, although it will take a lot to get into the soil here and down to where it's needed. There is so much other watering to do that I'm afraid it's going to have to cope or not by itself.
It's been warm rather than hot, and sunny, but the constant strong breeze really isn't helpful for the garden.

Perfection: cloudless sky, Walter Wall blueness, 22C at midday, low humidity, and just enough of a breeze to take the irritation away if it gets a few degrees hotter.

                        Ditto here.

I saw the moon when I set off on my walk a couple of hours ago.

Wasn't expecting the rain so soon today. Mostly nice for my one and a half hour walk, just a few drops in the latter half. By the time some rain properly fell, I was at home thankfully (round 12:20).
