Heavy snow, hail and thunder just now has brought the temperature down to 2 degs C - none of which was mentioned in the simultaneous local forecast, though anybody looking out of the window at the Beeb would have had to have been blind not to have seen the enormous piled up cloud passing across S London. Maybe they're all sheltering!

Edit: loud thunder from the approaching next storm as I write: spherics registering in Streatham and Wandsworth. Huge gusts now. Just back home in time! Heavy hail now, large pea-sized.

Lovely views from Pembroke Lodge, Richmond Park later this afternoon though.

A bright blustery day, which will help to dry things out a bit after all the rain. So long as the sun is out the cold from the wind will be moderated somewhat, but nonetheless windproof clothing is the order of the day for going out.

No coat necessary for my walk (although could have done with gloves for the first 20 minutes). Sunny with quite a cool wind - not as cold as yesterday though.

Brisk, cold, breezy, but SUN, Spring bulbs peeping up - one or two brave ones even showing the beginnings of a bloom!!

Some daffodils already fully out in that London

Yes, we have a garden full of them - I keep on forgetting not to tread on the ones in the lawn! Croci just about over now here.

The weather looks set to be settled until Sunday afternoon, when a cold front starts to cross from the NW, eventually reaching the SE on Monday and then hanging around on Tuesday. Apart from for Scotland and N Ireland there shouldn't be that much rain or wind on this one, however. High pressure is then expected to settle in for some time.

A sharp frost overnight, an amazing neon green and yellow pre-dawn sky and now wall to wall sunshine and blue (or it would be if not for the con-trail veil over much of the eastern horizon. Finding out how many thousand flights have been serving no purpose other than to keep slots open over the pandemic months has greatly increased my dislike of such visible aerial self-harm) set to remain all day.
Draco, I hope you are not having something too much the opposite...

Very sunny here also, though cold on the cycle ride to E Dulwich St Sprees earlier. The firm charging us over £1k for chopping up our fallen conifer have just about completed the job in a single hour. Nice work, if you can get it!

We appear to be in for at least a couple of days of wet weather here in the SE as weak depressions trundle their way NE from France. How far NW the country will be affected remains to be decided!

From yesterday’s rather sunny day, to today’s rather drizzly and misty day, couldn’t be more different!
