There's some weird orb in the sky emitting light that we haven't seen here for a while. And it's dry (though was raining again this morning, it stopped before I set off on a walk).

Better today up at the wood-wall with the fierce east wind abated.....
Many more Fieldfares......chak-a-chak, chak-chak-chak...!
Very flighty, keeping their distance from the footpaths...moving swiftly from field to copse...to the next field and the next...
8C today....13 tomorrow, with drizzle...? The local birdlife will move on once again...Last edited by jayne lee wilson; 28-12-21, 16:29.

The mildness I find disconcerting, partly because it isn't, as previously noted, reflected in comfort indoors, but also because it "just ain't right" for this time of year. Like cloughie I would prefer cold and bright - a bit of sun makes everything so much better and easier to cope with. There's more than enough greyness in the news and day to day living without the weather adding to it. My lightbulbs may be low energy ( know the feeling!) but having them on all day everyday still adds up.

Currently 14 degrees outside and 21 degrees indoors.

Very wet first thing, but brightening up now - cloud breaking to hint at blue sky underneath. Whether we'll get a welcome glimpse of sun remains to be seen - we can but hope. Remains mild, but is also very windy.
