Says it’s 11C here but drab, dull and damp.

I have to say it doesn't look good for the next few days - remaining on the coldish side, but at least we have the prospect of getting some of the rain that seems to have been eluding this particular region. Next Tuesday's prospects look scary, if that large dartboard to the west of Ireland materialises - not often do we get low pressures of 940 mb at the centre off our shores. Even October 1987 was not that deep. It will depend on which direction it takes - still a bit too early to predict.

        Thx for warning!
I'll know it's on the way in when the sea birds start to roost up here 600ft above their usual haunts - a regular warning for us. They know what's good for 'em!!

Up here, chilly [3C] filth - rain, westerlies > wind chill.

Yesterday morning was sunny and dry, although the wind was a bit brisk, so good for visiting a nearby town's weekend Christmas market.By midday clouds were moving in but the wind eased a bit and the rain held off. I was glad the bus journey was not too long though as the combination of open windows and no heating meant I was a tad chilled by the time I arrived, but not as much as Friday's trip to the city which was a longer journey and I had dressed for a brief outdoors/mostly indoors set-up.
There was some violent rain last night - the clattering woke me up around 4am - due to the string wind as much as the actual volume of water, and today is going to be bright spells/downpours. Judging from the forecast I'd be better going and getting the bread and milk today in one of the gaps as Monday looks pretty bad.

Yup. Arwen back for us up here. With a real edge.

An occupational disease of violinists, perhaps?

Or, more positively, a free Aeolian harp recital?

Tipping it down. Looks like I'll have to postpone my walk.

That's just reached here - hopefully through by the time I have to go to the shops. This week looks as if it going to be one of those showers dodgers.

Mistimed my trip to town somewhat (to be fair rain arrived sooner than expected) so got caught. Fortunately I was heading back by the time the dots joined up to become proper rain rather than random spots, but it did make lugging the shopping back more tiresome than might otherwise have been the case. I also didn't plan the order as well as I could have - the library to return books should have come first so I wasn't at the furthest point from home when the rain came - but brain was having a duvet day I think*.

*Those who have seen my post this morning on the Fayrfax thread will likely say there is no doubt about brain absence...

For now here it is a lull after a few minutes of deluge - overflowing our modest launders as they are know in these parts.
