Filthy up here - driving fells rain of that very finest that soaks in seconds, tops in whiteout, temp c 12C.

Yesterday turned out alright, in the end, blue sky and sunshine. Today, however, grey, wind and rain.

Very similar here. Not a lot of sunshine yesterday, but got very warm after lunch. Stormy over night. The wind has dropped a bit for now and the cloud is breaking up to show scraps of blue sky, but there is a strong element of "calm before the storm" given what is forecast for later in the day, although not as bad possibly as was being predicted in yesterday's forecasts.

          Doesn’t look too hopeful today.

After a stormy evening and night looking like a good day today - methinks a little chillier but plenty of visiting from that yellow thing in the sky!

The sun is triumphing here too, but more than "a little chillier", thanks to a great deal of NW wind. On the plus side that should help to lift some of the excessive wet of the last 12 hours.

Boy, it didn't 'arf rain here last evening: bucketted down from 8 pm to midnight with, probably amounting to a couple of inches of rainfall. Now, with the nor'westerly installed, the sun is shining, but the temperature has actually fallen from the 10 C at midnight to 8 C right now - the lowest midday temperature since April 12. Coat on for the afternoon walk.

It will be interesting to learn if there has been any flooding in the London area.

Chill in the air now though: had to put the central heating on earlier on. These correct temperatures for late October take some getting used to!

A fair amount of sunshine and blue sky to highlight the sudden explosion of autumn leaf colour (brought on by the combination of recent cold snaps at night and warm days), but goodness the wind is chilly.

Console yourself with the thought that today's temperatures represent two-thirds of the drop that is to be expected from July to January averages!

Not a great day today, methinks.

WILD westerlies overnight and lashings of rain then and now.

Windy but almost warm here today, with broken stratocumulus and sunshine. This is expected to last until Friday, just in our privileged little corner of England.
