P.S. Nothing here yet, but thunderstorms threatened tomorrow.
Yes, I have good views to the north directly from here, located as I am at 250 feet above sea level, which is quite high up for London. I can see right across to Hampstead Heath, 12 miles away on a reasonably clear day, and to the north-west if I climb the final 110 feet to the top of the Crystal Palace ridge - from which one can view out beyond London to the south-east as well.

Rather a muggy but drizzly start to the day.

It looks as if it could warm up again during the first part of next week: the charts suggest such although the chartered forecasters aren't saying so. I'm on tenterhooks now - will I prove right?

This is so frustrating! Wednesday night's rain didn't happen - not even a hint - and now there are potential rain bearing masses to the north south east and west, but a great gap where I live. Both Met and BBC forecasts give at least 60% rain possibility, and further lower chances later. An impressive black bank of cloud traveled across about 30 mins ago but the few very small drips from it hardly reached the ground before they dried up and barely disturbed the dust deposited on the car windows from the unmade road. Oh well, nothing to be done, but going round the garden doesn't raise the spirits as much as it might now, seeing veg struggling and some of the flowers dying almost before they open.

Rather a dull, muggy day today.

Superb day here. Sunshine, cool breeze from the West, maximum temperature 20C. Ideal.

Warm and grey. Chance of rain again appears to be zero, which at last will be a bonus for the opening ceremony for a newly created "Pocket Park" in town, which apparently will have considerable media interest.

Altocumulus spread from the west just now, ahead of that system anticipated to bring rain to the West Country, ended my hour's worth of sunbathing - a consequence of falling asleep listening to Sibelius in the other room after lunch! I need to check, but yesterday it looked as if tomorrow is going to be mainly cloudy.

Just in a case will probably be the best place to be tomorrow, to judge by the forecast. Oddoneout should at last get that much needed rainfall.

I'll believe it when I see/feel it! Reading the forecast summary it will depend on where the dividing line between west and east falls. Mind you it's volunteer gardening on Tuesday so that might increase the chances, especially as one of the tasks I noticed when I was at work on Sunday needed urgently doing is repairing the damage to a bed I planted less than two weeks ago done by an almighty cloudburst which happened on Friday. So the black clouds I mentioned in #7881 evidently managed to do something less than 1.5 miles away...
Good thing it stayed dry for Sunday though as it was the first event in two years and coping with close to 1800 visitors after months of 180 being considered a busy day, was quite enough to be getting on with!
