En route it might be possible to give Fulham Palace a visit, at any rate the grounds, never in memory having been there, although there is a photo snap of me in pram there in 1946!
... don't forget, there's always Barnes railway bridge, which also has a foot and bicycle path for crossing the Thames there if you want to.

On Wednesday we did one of our favourites - Kew Bridge, downstream on the south side to Barnes railway bridge, cross, and continue on the north side down to Hammersmith

Thanks for that advice vints! I'm all togged up and about to leave: thought I'd do a route via Wandsworth Bridge, Hurlingham Park, Fulham Palace, then the Lower Mall around the big Thames Duke's Meadows meander to Chiswick Bridge (where you could almost be in the countryside), and thence across that bridge, taking the path to Barnes along the Mortlake side, because I find that a very attractive route. If I find myself out of puff I might take up your suggestion re Barnes Bridge. That Kew Bridge stretch I'd like to do, but it may just be a bit too far for me now! A mixture of sunshine, cloud and light winds should make for a comfortable not too arduous journey of say 5 hours, maybe longer if I stop off at Nardulli's excellent ice cream outlet in Old Clapham on the way back, depending on how crowded it is - and it usually is in weather like this!

Rather fitful sunshine and a brisk cool breeze are knocking the temperatures back noticeably at the moment - high teens by midday with any luck and a bit more sun.... I'll need to rethink top dressing for errands in town as there will be waiting to enter in two draughty shaded places.

Quite cool when I set out at 9.30, and still only 21 C by the time of reaching Fulham Palace (and btw FP is well worth the visit just for the grounds if, like today, the house itself was closed. When open, entry is free). 23 C seems likely to be today's maximum hereabouts, though the early afternoon sunshine felt blisteringly hot. I got back home by 3pm, having had an exotic salad energy boost stopover in Putney. Now trying to resist an urge to fall asleep!

                Sun? Huh!
Up here, fells shrouded in mist and cloud. Not a glimpse of brightness!
                ....................well, so far...that is!

Perfect June morning here. Not a cloud in the sky and the strong wind that ruined yesterday has completely disappeared. It's warming up very nicely...

Well, there's an awful lot of hot air coming out of the Carbis Bay area.

Having worked it out, I am amazed to have calculated that I must have cycled at least 24 miles yesterday. So today I am taking a rest - may go for a short walk this afternoon and some sunbathing after five, when it will be less potentially damaging sunburn. I still have to rid myself nearly a stone in weight!

I have some lockdown weight too be rid of, but as I have mobility issues on top of this, it’s going to be rather difficult.

Another hotty too! 29C in London so down here it most likely be around 25-28C.

When lockdown started I resolved to do a daily bike ride and have stuck with it. I usually only do about 5k and rarely more than 10-12. Since May last year I have been using a phone app to record rides. A bit anorakish, maybe, but it adds a bit of interest to the process. Since last May I have covered about 21000k, enough to get me to John o' Groats and back.

Over lockdown I have lost weight and can fit into some 34 waist trousers which had become too tight for comfort. Must be at least in part due to cycling

My computer expert has this problem too - became overweight a few years back when he broke his leg, then started to become clumsy with the extra weight, and has been having fracture after fracture eder since, so now, at 60, he is pretty much laid up and needing carers to visit twice daily.

I've just done my exercise for the day, cycling a 6 mile round trip home from the shops and making use of it being still comfortably warm rather than the hot it will become this afternoon. Pleasant cooling breeze despite the brilliant sunshine, clear blue sky and excellent visibility: 25 C on the thermometer right now.
