Well it did rain properly last night. The wind settled late evening so the rain came straight down and has reached all areas and I've been out emptying trays and dishes so that seedlings and pot plants can drain. Some of the tree and shrub branches are bowed down with the weight of water on them but now the sun is beginning to break through they'll gradually get up again. Hope to get the last of my veg plants in the ground - the combination of damp and warmth should make for quick establishment, especially of the tomatoes. If the breeze stays light and the sun gets out then the next couple of days could be rather sticky-feeling.

A nice 4-mile walk this afternoon to help recovery from yesterday's 12-mile cycle ride to the fringes of the countryside. Pretty much three quarters cloudy all day here - none of the showers threatened to materalise, so far, but quite high humidity and very little wind is making this a very stuffy sort of day, temperature low 20s.
